The second album by singer/composer Kazuhiro Nishimatsu, who is also well known as the vocalist of Aragon. Perhaps it was the label's intention, but this is a surprising change from the AOR taste of the first album to a conceptual style that invites feelings of travel and nostalgia. The music is a tour of the tropics, Asia, and statelessness that seems to reflect the tastes of co-producer Tadashi Namba (ex Aragon). Beginning with the uplifting and elegance "A Night Of Blue Roses", followed by the tropical/Latin vacational tune "Colonial Hotel At", the immersive ethno-oriental "Afterglow", the romantic instrumental "Rondo", Mebae Miyahara's lyrics is also a nice touch on the exotic oriental pop title track, The ballad "Hong Kong Adoration" and the dreamy "Old Moon" close out this masterpiece. This is a don't-miss for those who love Cochin Moon and Kyozo Nishioka. One theory is that the sales of this work were not good and the artist activity ended in a short life. It's a worthless talent.
Aragonのヴォーカリストとしても大きく知られるシンガー/コンポーザー西松一博のセカンドアルバム。レーベルの意図なのかファーストのAORテイストから旅情と郷愁を誘うようなコンセプチャルな作風へと舵を切った驚きの作品。共同プロデュースの難波正司の趣味も大きく反映されていそうな南国～アジア～無国籍を巡るような楽曲の数々。高揚感を抱かせる”A Night Of Blue Roses”に始まり、トロピカル/ラテンなヴァケーショナル・チューン”コロニアル・ホテルにて”、打ち込みエスノ・オリエンタル”残照”、ロマンティック・インスト”輪舞”、宮原芽映の歌詞もいい塩梅の異国情緒に富んだオリエンタルポップ風のタイトルトラック、バラード曲”香港慕情”、ラストを締めるドリーミーな”Old Moon”と隙なしの傑作。コチンムーンや西岡恭造好きにはドンピシャではないでしょうか。一説には今作のセールスが芳しくなくアーティスト活動が短命に終わったとの噂も。勿体ない才能です。
