Born in the USA, transnational percussionist/composer Steve Shehan was based in Paris, where he travelled the world and developed his own musical vision. Over the past 40 years, he has been involved in many productions not only as a producer, also as a sideman, arranger, engineer. This album was released early in his solo career on the prestigious French library April Orchestra. A number of dynamism yet delicate lyrical tracks that can be called the art of percussion and world music. Simply a magical album that appears to sum up all the elements we are looking for. アメリカに生まれ、パリを拠点に世界を旅しながら自らの音楽観を構築していった越境のパーカッショ二スト/作曲家Steve Shehan。40年以上に渡り制作活動だけではなくサイドマン、アレンジャー、エンジニアとしても多くの作品に携わっています。本作はソロキャリア初期に仏ライブラリー名門April Orchestraからリリースした一枚。パーカッションとワールド・ミュージックの芸術と言える大胆かつ繊細さを持ったリリシズムな楽曲の数々。心地よさと摩天楼のように変化していく一級のグルーヴが同居した”Habanera”、まさにジャングルを駆け抜けていくような”Mystic Jungle”、みなぎるパーカッションとエレクトロニクスが交差する暖かなサウンド”Sahara”、ドープ・エスノ・ジャズ”Stressing”など全10曲。当店が追い求める要素が集約されたような魔法のような一枚。ようやく再入荷できました。
