Los Famosos Wembler's de Iquitos is a band from Iquitos, Peru, located in the Amazon, which is recognized as the world's largest city that cannot be reached by land. Formed in 1964 by the Sanchez brothers, this legendary band created the genre of cumbia amazonica along with the Chicha craze of the 1970s, and has been active for a long time without leaving their hometown of Iquitos, even though they have performed in the United States. This work was released in 1980 and is known as the last studio album produced before the death of their father Solomon and the band stopped releasing albums (they released albums in the 2000s). They play a comfortable sound from start to finish here, with their trademark psychedelic sound. And their skilled and refined playing form is also impressive. There is still footage of a live performance from three years ago, and it seems they are still active today. The record is in very good condition no scratch/scuff, and the jacket is also pretty good no cut/tear.
アマゾンに位置し陸路では行けない世界最大の町と知られるペルー・イキトスのバンドLos Famosos Wembler’s de Iquitos。1964年にサンチェス兄弟を中心に結成され70年代のチチャの流行と共にクンビア・アマゾニカというジャンルを生み出し、アメリカで公演なども行いつつも地元イキトスを離れず長きに渡り活動しているレジェンダリーバンド。本作は父親ソロモンが亡くなりリリースをやめてしまう前（2000年代に入りリリースはされます）に制作された最後のスタジオアルバムとして知られる80年作。トレードマークのサイケデリックなサウンドを交えながら終始心地よいサウンドを聞かせてくれます。熟練が伺い知れる端正な演奏フォームも印象的。三年前のライブの映像も残っていて現在も現役で活動しているようです。今日のような温かな陽気と聞きたいですね。盤非常に綺麗、ジャケットもまずまずかなといったところです。
