The only release in 1976 by the Mendez Trio, a Mexican jazz ensemble featuring Nando Estevané Méndez, Memo Méndez Guiú, and Oscar Rountree Mendez, all in their early 20s at the time. It coincides with the time of activity with La Nopalera, which Gerardo Bátiz and top mexican jazz man also participated in, and also a release from the same label Discos NCL, so the relationship is also a matter of concern. Starting with the flowing Latin jazz of "El Gato," which is accented by an electric arrangement, highlight of mellow jazz tune "Alegrías" with scat, and the elegant jazz tune "Pepes Y Chelas," all of which have a mellow and pensive taste. Also amazed at this level of perfection and maturity at such a young age.
