It is not well-known, but the band that Gererdo Batiz participated in the late 70's, Mexico's prestigious Pentagram Arturo Cipriano who left a masterpiece and Toussait brothers/sisters Cecilia Toussait who forms Sacbe have members at the forefront of Mexican jazz It is like a so-called predecessor band before releasing a solo work of the 80's.The Sacbe members are credited for the inserts, so they probably did the same thing.The sound is of course high quality Jazz/Jazz Rock, and the first recommended track is the jazz ensemble "Calle Cereza" that will guide you to paradise at the end of side A,and A1 "Pacifico" is a beautiful female vocal that leads to Batiz works,B3 "Domingo Canta with relaxed spiritual jazz taste. One of great jazz stuff of Mexico.
あまり知られていませんが70年代後半にGererdo Batizが参加していたバンドでメキシコ名門Pentagramにも名作を残すArturo CiprianoやSacbeを形成するToussait兄弟のCecilia Toussaitなどメキシコジャズの最前線のメンバーが揃った80年代のソロ作を出す前のいわゆる前身バンドに当たるような存在です。インサートにはSacbeのメンバーもクレジットされているので同じような活動をしていたと思われます。音も勿論上質のJazz/Jazz Rockを収録していてまず白眉なのはA面最後の終始楽園に案内してくれるような演奏のジャズアンサンブル"Calle Cereza"が素晴らしいです、更にBatiz諸作に通じる女性ヴォーカルが華麗に舞うA1"Pacifico",ゆったりとしたスピリチュアルジャズテイストなB3"Domingo Canta"と素晴らしい内容です。
