Arturo Meza, one of Mexican unique musician from Michoacán. Known for crafting various instruments and steadfastly independent releases, this is his first solo album from 1984, the second release on his own Gente de México label. All nine tracks feature unique arrangements blending elements of Mexican folklore and Renaissance music, showing a departure from the Voldarepet and Decibel sound. The plucked guitar tones and soulful vocals, enhanced by extensive synthesizer use, add further color. It's enveloped in that uniquely Mexican floating atmosphere shared by Roland Chia, Jose Antonio Nachon, Eblen Macari. Simply magnificent. The handmade jacket design is also tasteful. There are a few spots with slight crackling, but overall it's in good condition.
メキシコ・ミチョアカン出身の前衛音楽家Arturo Meza。様々な楽器の制作やインディペンデントに徹したリリースで知られていますが本作は彼が設立したGente de Méxicoレーベルの第二弾に当たる84年のソロファーストアルバム。Voldarepet, Decibelのテイストから脱却が見て取れるメキシコの民話とルネサンス音楽の要素を融合させた独自のアレンジによる全9曲。つま弾くギターの音色、慕情を引き立てるような歌心にシンセサイザーの多用することで全体に彩りを加えています。Roland Chia, Jose Antonio Nachon, Eblen Macariにも共通するメキシコ特有のまろやかな空気が包み込みます。あまりにも素晴らしい。ハンドメイド仕様のジャケットがまたたまりません。一生ものと言える作品です。少しチリパチする箇所ありますが概ね良好な部類です。リボンが付くようですがそちらは欠品です。
