10-inch disc from 1960, transcribed by Kyojiro Kondo, who has written a book on Ainu Min'yō songs, translated into Japanese from Ainu language, and reorganized by a choir and seven insturmental players. Among them, "Song of Prayer for the Solar and Lunar Eclipses" covered with witchcraft atmosphere, "Whale Festival'', a powerful chorus accompanied by a gong and imitation of crows, and dynamic dance track "Sword Dance", are recommended. Dope performance thoughout.
アイヌ民謡に関する著書を残している近藤鏡二郎が採譜し、それを日本語訳にしながら合唱団と7人の奏者によって再編した60年の10インチ盤。まずは呪術的にさえ聞こえてくる”日食月食に祈る歌”、ゴングを合図に迫力ある合唱とカラスの鳴きまねの掛け合い”鯨祭り”、躍動的なダンスな一曲”剣の舞”からどうぞ。終始ドープな演奏にやられます。
