1993 release work by flutist Yuka Kido, who has visited to Brazil to release authentic Brazilian works. This was her first release as a Brazilian work, and all the songs are original except for one song recorded locally with the participation of Nico Assumpcao and Laudir de Oliveira. The flute tones blend with the local atmosphere to create a comfortable sound throughout the album, includes instrumental bossa "Starlet" with snappy rhythm, "Saudade" with melancholy and relaxed melody, “Purple Beach” with moving guitar playing in the middle, and last track is a cover of “Orfeu Negro” with a smooth melody, percussion, and flute that creates an enchanting groove.Think it's a substantial album that deserves to be heard more often.
現地に赴き本格的なブラジル作品をリリースしているフルーティスト城戸夕果による93年作。本作はブラジル作品として初めてリリースしたもので、Nico AssumpcaoやLaudir de Oliveiraらが参加した現地録音による1曲以外は全てオリジナルの構成。フルートの音色が現地の空気感と相まり全編で心地良いサウンドが展開されていて、小気味いいリズムのインストボッサ”Starlet”、哀愁あるゆったりとしたメロディで展開される”Saudade”、中盤のギタープレイもグッとくる一体となった演奏が聴ける”Purple Beach”、ラストの滑らかな旋律、パーカッション、フルートがうっとりするようなグルーヴを奏でる黒いオルフェのカバーを収録。もっと聞かれるべき充実の内容です。
