Tomo Akikawabaya actived as a guitarist when he went to UK to study fashion, and after returning to Japan, he performed live guitar improvisations and then performed with synthesizers and vocals, creating works that are considered masterpieces. This is the only 7-inch single released in 1985, with the slow dark wave "Diamond" that is sung in a tearful voice with a hopeless meaning on the A side, and B-side features minimal synth track "A Dream Of No Pillow" with a similar moody, unaffected beat and a mysterious charm. Around this time, he became disappointed with the Japanese music scene and tried to perform in London, but without any luck, he ceased performing under this name the following year. The indescribable expression on the jacket appears to reflect his state of mind. A master work by a musical genius who left too early.
ファッションの勉学の為に渡英した際にギタリストの一員として活動し、帰国後はギターによる即興演奏ライブを経てシンセサイザーとボーカルによるパフォーマンスにて全てが傑作と呼ばれる作品を残した秋川早友。本作は85年にリリースされた唯一の7インチシングル。A面には絶望的な意味が込められているという泣きそうな声で歌われるスロー・ダーク・ウェーブ”Diamond”、B面には同様のムードで淡々とビートが打ち込まれ不思議な魅力を放つミニマル・シンセ”A Dream Of No Pillow”を収録。この頃日本の音楽シーンに失望し、ロンドンにて活動を試みるも運に恵まれず翌年にはこの名義では活動停止、ジャケットのなんとも言えない表情がそんな心模様を映し出しているかのよう。天才音楽家が残した早すぎた傑作です。
