T.K. Ramamoorthyan, an Indian composer/violinist who composed over 100 soundtracks, mainly Tamil music, from the 1950s to the 1960s as a duo with M.S. Viswanathan. This is one of his solo works after their breakup in 1965. Contains a total of 9 tracks that have an Indian classical feel, a jazz rock/garage beat sensibillity, and obscure feel typical of Indian music with the occasional trippy electronic sound. A blend of tabla, sitar, melodies of South Indian folk instruments, Tamil intonation, wired frontier grooves that we are looking for. Recommended.

Ramamoorthy。本作は65年の決別後のソロ期に手掛けた作品のひとつ。インドクラシカルな風情にジャズロック/ガラージ的ビート感覚、ときおりトリッピーな電子音も交えたオブスキュア感覚にも優れた全9曲を収録。タブラ、シタールなどに加え南インド民族楽器の旋律、タミル語のイントネーション、どんな音が飛び出て来るかわからない異端グルーヴがブレンドされた当店が求めるようなサウンドが凝縮されています。推薦盤。
