A black cosmic jazz album in which the great American musician/pianist Herbie Hancock pursued a unique magico sound while returning to Africa under the influence of the electric Miles left behind under the name Mwandishi. Three tracks are included, cosmic spacey track “Rain Dance” with tricky synth riffs and effects, dope odd electronic mid-funk “Hidden Shadows” and 20-minute-plus swell of fuzz-tinged Afro-psychedelic funk “Hornets”. True classic. Be sure to listen to it at full volume. The sound quality of the SX-74 Sound Series, which is billed as a sound revolution, is also blissful.
アメリカが生んだ偉大な音楽家/ピアニストHerbie HancockがMwandishi名義で残した、電化Milesの影響下の元アフリカに回帰しながら独自のサウンドを追求したブラック・コズミック・ジャズ作品。トリッキーなシンセワーク、幽玄に吹き荒れるトランペットが印象的なコズミック・スペーシー”Rain Dance”、ドープな変拍子電子ミッドファンク”Hidden Shadows”、20分超えのうねりを上げファズに攻め立てるアフロサイケファンク”Hornets”の3曲を収録。大名盤。いつ聞いても最高。是非とも大音量で飛ばされて下さい。サウンド革命を銘打ったSX-74 Soundシリーズの音質も至福。
