As a soundtrack of the animated movie "The Tale of Genji," that Haruomi Hosono is a deep and mysterious work that uses the technique of Gagaku, a music used in festivals on the Korean Peninsula, which is considered to be the root of traditional Japanese music.You can also feel the music sense unique to Hosono where the elements of pop and ethno can be seen and hidden somewhere. Definitely one of the best soundtracks in Japan. Very rare cassette edition. There are other versions (Hong Kong version?) on Discogs, but from the catalog, it seems to be a Japanese original cassette version of the same kind as the original LP (28∙3H-314).
ご存じ細野晴臣がアニメーション映画"源氏物語"のサウンドトラックとして日本の伝統音楽のルーツであるとされる朝鮮半島の祭礼などにおいて用いられる音楽である雅楽の手法を取り入れた深く神秘的な作品。どこかポップやエスノの要素も見え隠れする細野晴臣ならではの音楽センスも感じることができると思います。名サウンドトラック。少し破れ箇所ありますが、超稀少なカセット版です。Discogsには他のヴァージョン(香港版っぽい)ありますが、カタログからオリジナルLP(28∙3H-314)と同類の日本オリジナルカセット版と思われます。
