1974 released album, probably the first by the large ethnic jazz band The Collective Star. Members include Tulsi, a tambura player who has participated in Alice Coltrane's works, and Ron Burton, known for his work with Roland Kirk. The album contains four tunes filled with ethno-sensibility under the keywords of mantra, meditation, and rhythm. Above all, "Listen", which is over 11 minutes long and depicts an addictive, magico‐religious world view, and "God Of Beauty", which is full of spirituality, harmonizing oriental essence with songs like hymns, are particularly outstanding. Musicality that feels the height of spirituality throughout. Released on self label Unanimous Anonymous, Inc.
大所帯エスニック・ジャズ・バンドThe Collective Starによるおそらく初作となる74年作。メンバーにはAlice Coltrane諸作にも参加するタンブラ奏者TulsiやRoland Kirkとの活動で知られるRon Burtonが名を連ねています。マントラ、瞑想、リズムといったキーワードの元、エスノ感覚に満ちた全4曲を収録。中でも中毒性のある呪術的な世界観を描いていく11分を超える”Listen”、讃歌の様な歌に東洋的なエッセンスが調和されたスピリチュアル全開の”God Of Beauty”は特に素晴らしい。全編精神性の高さも際立っています。自主レーベルUnanimous Anonymous, Inc.からのリリース。
