A legendary live recording from 1976 by drummer/percussionist Milford Graves, a pioneer of American free jazz scene. Formed as a trio with lead players Arthur Doyle and Hugh Glover, the album draws you in with their frenetic playing from the start, captivating you with overwhelming force. Following the cheers of the audience, Graves's incantations lead to the two saxophones roaring. The mid-section reaches its peak with the terrifying intensity of “Bi” on A2. The latter half of the B-side “Bäbi” envelops you in a mystical atmosphere, like listening to a ritual deep in some jungle. This recording captures something that words like jazz, afro, or psychedelic simply can't describe, it's truly blood-pumping. Just incredible record. Get the original sound and let it blow your mind from the start of the new year.
