Kiyoshi Yamaya, a jazz musician who was a member of the "Modern Jazz Trio" with Norio Maeda and Keitaro Miho and contributed to many developments in the field of arrangement as well as composition. This work is a collection of Western classical music performed by Yamaya, Kimihisa Katada, Kifu Mitsuhashi, Toshiko Yonekawa, and others on Japanese instruments such as the koto, flute, shakuhachi, taiko. Total amazing performances include A3 "Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte", A4 "In the Persian Market", B3 "Dance of the Dattans", which draw you in with the emotional tones of Japanese instruments and a fantastical atmosphere. Masterpiece.

前田憲男、三保敬太郎との”モダンジャズ三人会”のメンバーでもあり作曲に加えアレンジの分野でも多くの発展に貢献したジャズ音楽家山屋清。本作は山屋を中心に堅田喜三久、三橋貴風、米川敏子などが西洋古典音楽を箏・笛・尺八・鼓などの邦楽器で演奏した楽曲集。情緒に溢れた邦楽器の音色と幻想的な空気感に引き込まれるA3”死せる王女のためのバパール”、A4”ペルシャの市場にて”、B3”ダッタン人の踊り”は特に秀逸。素晴らしいパフォーマンスを収録した名作。
