Kuranosuke Hamaguchi aka Hamakura was one of representive composer in Japan who mixed Japanese poetry with the rhythms and melodies of Western music to create numerous popular songs as a postwar hit maker. He composed countless songs, but there are not that many records on which you can hear his tasteful singing voice. This is one of those, a collection of works released in 1976. Backed by Akira Ishikawa and his group, he treats us to heart-touching melodies and singing voice such as his signature song "Ame No Pierrot" and other recommended "Ikinawakare", "Ginza No Komoriuta", "Yoru No Mushi". It just doesn't work without the atmosphere of Hamakura's voice!
