Soundtrack to the 1989 theatrical film "Untama Giru" by Go Takamine, who has been making films about Okinawa. Following Haruomi Hosono's previous work "Paradise View", Guernica and 8 1/2 Koji Ueno produced music for this film. The artist who has never been to Okinawa himself at that time, describes his imaginary small works with sarcastic expressions. However, it creates a fantastical, magical, and bewitching soundscape that mysteriously synchronizes with the original film. The scene where a warrior with a sword stuck in the final track walks along the beach is impact. It's a wonderful piece that want more people to listen. First original CD with special case specification.
沖縄を題材にした映画を撮り続ける高嶺剛による89年公開の劇映画「ウンタマギルー」のサウンドトラック。前作「パラダイスビュー」の細野晴臣に次いで今作ではゲルニカや8 1/2の上野耕路が担当。自身は沖縄には一度も行ったことがなかったという中で自ら皮肉めいた表現で語られる空想小作品集。しかしながら不思議と原作映像にシンクロしていくような幻想的かつ妖しいサウンドスケープを作り上げています。ラストのトラックが使われた刀が刺さった戦士(?)が海岸を歩くシーンはなかなか強烈です。リイシューもされましたがもっと多くの人に聞いて欲しい彼の才気を感じられる素晴らしい作品です。特製ケース仕様のファーストオリジナル美品。久しぶりに入荷できました。
