The other face of contemporary musician/pianist Yuji Takahashi, who was active from 1978 to 1985, presided over the public music ensemble "Suigyu Gakudan". This cassette book contains a selection of their master tunes and a performance (concert) with playwright Kisaragi Koharu, which were released before thier "vacation". Contains two books are enclosed in, one of which describes the details of performances and correspondence with Yuji Takahashi, an idol of Kisaragi who had been following contemporary music since her teenage years and called herself a "me-ha" (meek person), and other book contains a symposium with Takahashi, Ryuichi Sakamoto who is close friends of Takahashi, Akira Asada, and orchestra member Mie Yamaki, as well as dialogues between Sakamoto and Asada. Those who do not know the ensemble back then, including myself, may find it difficult at first, but think it will become more familiar after seeing and hearing about the past activities. The release is from a private publishing company established by Ryuichi Sakamoto in 1984. The distributor is Toujyusha, the same company that produced the SEED series, but the contents are completely different, so please don't be offended.
現代音楽家/ピアニスト 高橋悠治のもう一つの顔である78年から85年まで活動した氏が主宰を務めた民衆音楽楽団「水牛楽団」。本作はその活動”休業”前にリリースされた名曲選と劇作家 如月小春とのパフォーマンス(コンサート)を収録したカセットブック。十代の頃から現代音楽を追いかけ自らを”ミーハー”と称した如月に取ってはアイドル的存在の高橋悠治との戸惑いのあるやり取りから演奏の詳細が書かれた内容を記した本に、高橋と親交の深い坂本龍一、浅田彰、楽団のメンバー八巻美恵とのシンポジウム、坂本と浅田のダイアログを記した本の二冊を封入。自身も含め当時を知らない方は最初は難解に感じると思いますが、過去の活動を見たり聞いたりするとしっくりしてくる気がします。楽団を知る入門編にもいいかと思います。発売元は坂本龍一が84年に設立した個人出版社より。ディストリビューションはSEEDシリーズの冬樹社ですが内容は全く別物と言えるものです。
