1988 album by the band of Peruchín Jr., son of Pedro Justiz (aka Peruchín), a central figure in the jam session descarga scene. Peruchín Jr. himself was a master guitarist and an important figure active in various orchestras and theaters.
This album also features a wide range of music, from compositions by his father Peruchín to latin jazz and afro cuban. Highlights include “Babalu” delivering smooth Afro-Cuban jazz with minimal repeating riff, the wired “Janet Blues” fusing disco and bebop, and the standout “Cinco Petalos De Una Flor” featuring tight impressive playing. This isn't a well-known album, but it's a quality piece.
ジャムセッション・デスカルガシーンの中心人物であったPedro JustizことPeruchínの息子Peruchín Jr.の楽団が残した88年作。彼自身もギターの名手にして様々なオーケストラや劇場で活動した重要人物。本作でも父親Peruchín作曲の楽曲からラテン・ジャズ、アフロ・キューバンまで幅広く収録しています。中でもミニマルにリフを繰り返しながらスムースなアフロ・キューバン・ジャズを聞かせる”Babalu”、ディスコやビバップを融合させたワイヤードな”Janet Blues”、タイトな演奏も際立つハイライトな”Cinco Petalos De Una Flor”は聴き所。有名盤ではないですがクオリティを感じる良作です。
