Cuban-born Venezuelan electronic musician Angel Rada. After studying electronic music with Klaus Schulz and others musicians in Germany in the 70's and returning to Venezuela, this is one of the works that constantly released on his own label, and the last release as a record, released in 1988. Since the early his releases, he had left works that have drawn of interest in Japan and Orient, in this work, the style seems to be even stronger. Total 8 tracks include "Flamingo" a hybrid of electro beats and Japanese scenes, "Extasis Primitivo" reminiscent of the Akira's Inochi series, and "Kamasutra" which expresses an oriental atmosphere through the use of ethnic instruments. Imagine that he must have been happy when he came to Japan for the live performance as well.
キューバ生まれのベネズエラ人電子音楽家Angel Rada。70年代にドイツでクラウス・シュルツをはじめとした音楽家から電子音楽を学び帰国した後、自身のレーベルからコンスタントに発表した作品群のひとつ及びレコードとしては最後のリリースとなる88年作。活動初期より日本や東洋へ大きな関心を寄せた作品を残していますが、本作では更にその想いがエスカレート気味？に炸裂したような作風となっています。エレクトロビートと日本の情景をハイブリッドさせたような”Flamingo”、Inochiシリーズを思い起こさせる”Extasis Primitivo”、民族楽器を使用し東洋的な空気感を表現した”Kamasutra”を筆頭にした全8曲。ライブも兼ねて来日した時は嬉しかったんだろうなぁと勝手に想像してしまいます。
