Joel Vandroogenbroeck, the Belgian maestro who bridged East and West through his work with Brainticket and countless masterpieces. This 1980 release is the second catalogue on the Munich-based library label Coloursound Library, which also features works by Alessandro Alessandroni and Klaus Weiss. Produced entirely by Joel Vandroogenbroeck, it's a collaborative production with Walt Rockman well known masterpiece “Underwater Vol. 1” and composer Florian Voelxen. It features 13 tracks crafting "Pastoral" soundscapes while incorporating numerous ethnic instruments, as suggested by the title. Every track is exceptional, but standouts include “M'ridamgam Song” a wired feeling where psychedelic electronic sounds intertwine over a fast-paced tabla rhythm shifting in tempo, “Raven's Dance” an abstract track with a strangely unique tempo, swirling kaleidoscopic electronic psychedelia “Castles In Winter”, the mystical mood crafted by delayed flute in “Fairy Tale,” and the synth-led “Veridian Song” with its quietly resonating percussion are particularly outstanding. Each track feels meticulously crafted. Features a license sticker? likely affixed when sold in Belgium.
Brainticketでの活動並びに数々の名作を生み出した古今東西を結ぶベルギーが生んだ鬼才Joel Vandroogenbroeck。本作はAlessandro AlessandroniやKlaus Weissも作品を残すミュンヘン拠点のライブラリーレーベルColoursound Libraryの2番に当たる80年作。全体のプロデュースをJoel Vandroogenbroeckが手掛け傑作”Underwater Vol. 1”を残すWalt RockmanとコンポーザーFlorian Voelxenとの共作というプロダクション。タイトルにも見える多くの民族楽器を持ち込みながら牧歌的な音風景を描いた全13の楽曲を収録。どれも間違いないですが、リズムを変化させる高速タブラの上をサイケデリックな電子音が絡むワイヤード感覚”M'ridamgam Song”、奇妙に独特なテンポを踏むアブストラクト・トラック”Raven's Dance”、旋回するような万華鏡的電子サイケデリア”Castles In Winter”、ディレイ処理されたフルートが導きながら神秘的ムードを演出する”Fairy Tale”、パーカッションがひっそりと鳴りながらシンセが導く”Veridian Song”は出色。どれもかなり作り込まれた印象を持たせるトラック群。全編いいので視聴も録りすぎちゃいました笑。ベルギーで販売された時に貼られたと思われるライセンス？シール貼り付けあり。
