In the mid-1980s, "Picture Music" was created by a group of well-known musicians in a share house in southern Brisbane, Australia. To avoid the hot summers in Brisbane's sub-tropical climate, they slept during the day and partied through the night, making music in the evenings and mornings. The finished recordings were passed on to film and video producers, but at the time they were not generally regarded as such. After about 35 years, this imaginary soundscape, full of sensibility and romanticism while retaining an experimental and abstract quality, seems to have been bathed in sunlight. 80年代半ば、オーストラリア・ブリスベン南部のシェアハウスで気心の知れたミュージシャンたちが集い作られた”ピクチャー・ミュージック"。亜熱帯気候のブリスベンにて暑い夏を避けるため、昼は眠り夕方から朝にかけて夜通し音楽を作りパーティーの繰り返し。こうして完成されたこの録音物は映画やビデオのプロデューサーの手に渡りましたが、当時は一般的には見向きもされなかったようです。約35年を経て、実験的/アブストラクトな質感を残しながらセンシティブでロマンシズム溢れるイマジナリーな音景が日の光を浴びかのようです。リイシューもされましたがこちらは是非テープの聴感と味わってほしい作品。ラストストック。
