Mikhail Chekalin, a Soviet experimental artist born in Moscow, who has been active in the underground since the 1970s, composing music for mainly theather and exhibiting his work in impressive exhibitions, and by the 1980s he was well known to many artists both domestically and internationally. This is his first album in 1988, which was finally approved for release by the state-run Melodiya label in a series called "Electronic Music". Recorded from 1984 to 1985, the album contains 9 imaginative pieces of ambient, cosmic, and abstract electronic music. Especially the ballet-like graceful new-age electronics "Расставаясь С Музыкой В Стиле Рок" is particularly appealing. In 1991, a group of LPs summarizing his radical activities in the 1980s were released.
モスクワに生まれ、70年代よりアンダーグラウンドな活動を続けながら劇中音楽の作曲や展覧会でも印象的な展示を続け80年代には国内外の多くの芸術家には知られる存在だったいうソ連が生んだエクスペリメンタル・アーティストMikhail Chekalin。本作は国営レーベルMelodiyaもようやくリリースを承認し、「Electronic Music」と称したシリーズに残した88年の初作。録音は84年から85年頃の音源で、アンビエント～コズミック～アブストラクトな電子音楽まで想像力みなぎる全9曲を収録。特にラストに収録のバレエのように優雅なニューエイジ・エレクトロニクス”Расставаясь С Музыкой В Стиле Рок”はグッときます。91年には80年代のその先鋭的な活動をまとめたLP群が一挙リリースもされています。
