Gus Giordano, an instructor/multi-producer who has produced many modern jazz dance recordings from the 1960s to the present through his own dance company and label he has affiliated. This LP is one of them, released around 1980. Each side features a different performer, Side A includes experimental jazz tracks with an obscure feel and proto house track featuring series regulars Matthew Casey and saxophonist Steve Eisen, and B-side is mainly composed of synth jazz and dance jazz tracks. The side A is extremely excellent, showing a unique crossover feel. One of the most popular works in the series.
60年代から現在に至るまで自身のダンスカンパニーと所属するレーベルを通して多くのモダンジャズダンス用音源を残しているインストラクター/マルチプロデューサーGus Giordano。本作もそのひとつとなる80年頃のリリースと見られる一枚。それぞれのサイドで演奏者が異なる仕様となっていて、A面にはシリーズの常連Matthew Caseyやサックス奏者Steve Eisenが参加したオブスキュア感覚の実験的トラックからプロト・ハウスまでを収録、B面はシンセ・ジャズやダンス用の楽曲が中心の構成。類まれなクロスオーヴァー感覚を覗かせるこのA面の楽曲群が非常に秀逸。シリーズでも特に稀少となっています。
