In the 1970s, Milton Nascimento presented a free gathering of fellow musicians and musicians who sympathized with Milton. Clube da Esquina, "corner club", has produced many musicians including Lo Borges and Toniño Horta, Minas Gerais, an inland state of Brazil. This is an independent compilation in 1988 that contains mostly unknown artists' songs that have been transmitted in the area. The music has a "minas characteristic" that combines the spirituality, melody, and harmony of church music with a sense of indigeneity and floating. Among them, Lima Júnior's “Prosa Mineira” is best tune. We think it's a compilation intended to introduce unknown excellent artists backed by Juarez Moreira, Renato Mota, Lincoln Cheib, Ivan Corrêa, Ladston Do Nascimento.
70年代にミルトン・ナシメントが提示した音楽仲間やミルトンに共鳴した音楽家の自由な集まり街角クラブ - クルビ・ダ・エスキーナ -の元、ロー・ボルジェスやトニーニョ・オルタはじめ現在に至るまで多くの音楽家を輩出したブラジル内陸部に位置するミナス・ジェライス。本作はその地で活動していたほとんどが無名のアーティストの楽曲を収録した88年の自主コンピレーション。教会音楽のスピリチュアリティ、メロディ、ハーモニーに加え土着感覚、独特な浮遊感が一体となった例に漏れない特性を備えた楽曲が並びます。中でもその美しさに心洗われるLima Júniorによる”Prosa Mineira”は絶品。Juarez Moreira, Renato Mota, Lincoln Cheib, Ivan Corrêa, Ladston Do Nascimentoなどがバッキングを務めた無名の優れたアーティストを紹介する意図のコンピレーションだと思います。
