SSW Serginho Meriti grew up in San Joan de Meriti, Rio, which is also the origin of his name. Born into a musical family, he has been active since the 1970s, and as a natural melody maker, he has composed many songs in addition to his own works, winning a Latin Grammy Award. This is his third album released in 1984, and we would recommend it as his best release. Although not flashy, it has a mellowness, arrangement, and vibes that will surely captivate freaks. Including samba MPB "Poço De Bondade" with an irresistible mellowness, samba fusion style "Relicário 81" with a detailed arrangement, mellow MPB "Me Ridicularizando" with an impressive soft synth, saudade-laden "Bendita", and funky number ”O Couro Come” with undulating bass. Amazing. A private release from a small label.
名前の由来でもあるリオのサン・ジョアン・デ・メリティ育ちのSSW Serginho Meriti。音楽一家に生まれ70年代から活動を続け天性のメロディメーカーとして自身の作品以外にも多くの作曲も手掛けラテングラミー賞も獲得しています。本作は84年にリリースされた最高傑作に推したいサードアルバム。いい意味で力が抜けた派手ではないものの玄人好みとでも言えそうなバイブスが全体に漂っています。極上のメロウネスがたまらないサンバMPB”Poço De Bondade”、細かなアレンジの光るサンバ・フュージョン調”Relicário 81”、柔らかなシンセも印象的なメロウMPB”Me Ridicularizando”、サウダージ駄々洩れ”Bendita”、うねるベースのファンキーなナンバー”O Couro Come”など筆頭に良曲だらけ。素晴らしい作品。小さなレーベルからの自主制作リリースにて稀少となっています。
