Os Tincoãs, a trio from Bahia, has left behind a string of masterpieces with a style that sublimated African roots like Afro and capoeira, based on Candomblé. This release is the Japanese edition of their fourth album, originally released in 1977. Featuring all 12 tracks woven together through their mature, delicate yet dynamic performances with the trio sharing vocal duties and playing guitar, congas, agogô, and other percussion instruments. The band masters the rhythms, delivering a complete album ranging from fast paced groovy tracks to saudage mellow types and songs that seem to sing endlessly. Amazing. It's a miraculous Japanese release, made possible because Takeru Morimoto, who built Japan's Latin scene as a samba singer, saw them live in Rio, was deeply impressed, and arranged for its release.
