Brazilian guitarist and music instructor Leyve Miranda has operated the music school “Groove” for over 30 years, nurturing numerous artists and commanding great respect to this day. This work is likely his only release under his own name, a self-produced album from 1982. It strongly reflects the influence of Hermeto Pascoal (Rest in piece) whom he covered on this album and discussed in a talk show released last year and same guitalist Gismonti. The content is flawless, starting with spiritual folk track featuring female vocals, followed by sophisticated arrangement of the aforementioned “Hermeto Pascoal - Bebe”, avant-garde jazz ensemble, and emotionally charged guitar solo. Just wonderful. Keyboardist Michel Freidenson, Mário Lúcio Marques (ex Placa Luminosa), and members of the sister chorus group Instant 4 participate. Both the disc and jacket are in great condition.
30年以上に渡り音楽スクール"Groove"を運営し多くのアーティストを輩出し現在も大きな尊敬を集めているブラジル人ギタリスト/音楽講師Leyve Miranda。本作は本人名義ではおそらく唯一作と思われる82年の自主制作盤。この作品でもカバーしていたり去年公開されたトークショウでも語っているHermeto PascoalやGismontiからの影響を色濃く感じさせる作風で、女性ヴォーカルをフォーチャーしたスピリチュアルな曲に始まり、前述”Hermeto Pascoal - Bebe”の華麗なアレンジ、前衛ジャズアンサンブル、情感溢れるギターソロまで隙なしの内容。素晴らしいです。鍵盤奏者Michel Freidenson、Mário Lúcio Marques (ex Placa Luminosa)、姉妹コーラスグループInstant 4のメンバーなどが参加しています。盤面/ジャケット共に良好なコンデションです。
