A self-produced album in 1990 by guitarist/composer Babe and drummer/percussionist Will, who met at a young age in a theater group. The album seems to combine the soil of Minas, exposure to various kinds of music at the theater, post-punk/industrial influences, and a sense of mixing that gives a sense of the historical background. It tends to sound like a one-sided development, but think the exquisite arrangement is also worth listening to, particularly "Solidões" with sparkiling electric guitar tone, floating feeling peculiar to Minas, beat sensibility and "Oi!" with new wave pop rhythm and singing spirit are highlight tunes. It is an interesting musical mixture of various genres of Brazilian music combined with private textures.
若くして劇団で出会ったギタリスト/コンポーザーBabeとドラム奏者/パーカッショ二ストWillによる90年の自主製作盤。ミナスの土壌、劇団で様々な音楽に触れ、ポストパンクやインダストリアルの影響、時代背景も感じ取れるミクスチャー感覚が結びついたような作品。煌びやかなエレキギターの音色、ミナス特有の浮遊感、ビート感覚が入り混じる”Solidões”やニューウェーヴ・ポップ的なリズムと歌心が相まった”Oi!”を筆頭に一辺倒な曲展開に聞こえがちですが絶妙なアレンジ所も聴き所かなと思います。様々なジャンルが混在するブラジル音楽にプライベートな質感が合わさった面白い音楽性です。ブラジル国内でも稀少との事です。
