Egungun is said to be the biggest festival in Voodoo religion and one of the world's most famous festivals. This record is a valuable record of Egungun's recording in Bahia, Brazil in the 1960s. Percussion instruments, suge instruments and festival songs resonate psychedelicly, and they are also clearly recorded. It begins with Villa Lobos piece “Estudio Nº1” which flows from its undulating opening into improvisation, followed by Pedro Dos Santos' solo piece “Cantico Del Agua” combining water-filled bottle and percussion instruments,  “Sorongaio” featuring the gentle sounds of the berimbau, bongos, guitar, the jungle-evoking “Munganga” sung by Pedro Dos Santos, and a cover of the bossa nova classic “Primavera”. It's been a while since we've had this in stock, but it's still absolutely superb. This is the Japanese edition released the year after the original from Trova. masterpieces, and this is one of them. Released in a different jacket on the Aries label, which had a short but dense catalog in the late 60s. There is a slight back noise due to age, but playback is
