1987 album by Austrian guitarist/composer Peter Ratzenbeck. He has a deep knowledge of Irish music from his long-term relationship with Irish folk singer/SSW Andy Irvine, and is known for his compositional activities that combine elements of New Age, folk, blues, baroque. The album includes 11 tracks ranging from delta blues to folk to Balearic, as the title suggests. In particular, the Balearic tune "Classical Gypsy" with New Age synth sounds and the folk rock "In The Valley" with irregular drumming accents are wonderful.

オーストリア人ギタリスト/コンポーザーPeter Ratzenbeckによる87年作。アイルランドのフォークシンガー/SSW Andy Irvineとの長年の交流からアイルランド音楽にも深い造詣を持ち、そこにニューエイジ、フォーク、ブルース、バロック等の要素を組み合わせた作曲活動で知られています。本作ではタイトルからも想像できるデルタ・ブルースからフォーク～バレアリックまで全11曲を収録。とりわけニューエイジ的なシンセが鳴るバレアリック・チューン”Classical Gypsy”、変則的なドラミングもアクセントなフォーク・ロック”In The Valley”が素晴らしい。
