Chika Asamoto, the first female professional saxophonist in Japan. After moving to the U.S. in late 70's, she worked at a jazz bar and enrolled at the Berkeley College of Music and this is debut album released over the years.Her rhythm work and songwriting that crosses various genres, not only jazz, are impressive, especially the last organic ambient track "Obsession" is excellent.
日本初女性プロサックス奏者朝本千可。70年後半に渡米後ジャズバーでの勤務やバークレー音楽院への入学などを経てリリースしたデヴュー作、日本人離れしたリズムワークやジャズだけではない多彩なジャンルを横断したソングライティングが印象的。特にラストの有機アンビエントトラック”Obsession”が秀逸。
