The group Star Band (De Dakar) was important role in the development of Senegalese music, spawning various derivative groups. Star Number One is one of them, and was formed when member Yakhya Fall gathered together former Star Band members due to a feud. The band is heavily influenced by Cuban music, it combines indigenous music and jazz, and the sound has a sense of psychedelic sublimation with rhythmic repetition. The hypnotic sound of the entire album is different from that of Nigeria's Fuji. Amazing groove. French edition with different jacket.

様々な派生グループを生み出したセネガル音楽の重要な発展を担ったグループStar Band (De Dakar)。このStar Number Oneもそのひとつで、メンバーYakhya Fallが不仲を理由に元Star Bandメンバーを集め結成したバンド。キューバ音楽から大きな影響を受けながら土着やジャズが結びつき、その音は反復を繰り返しながらサイケデリックに昇華していくような感覚。ナイジェリアのFujiとも異なる催眠的かつまろやかなサウンドを全編に収録。一聴するとわかりずらいかもしれませんが聞けば聞くほど馴染んできます。ジャケット違いのフランス盤での入荷です。
