A lifetime gem that recorded in Asilah, on the northern coast of Morocco, not far from Spain. Keyboard player Peter Lemer, who has left numerous jazz-related works, visited the area and recorded a session that can hardly be thought of as sober with traditional Moroccan ensemble La Troupe Populaire De G'naoua De Asilah in 1980. The instruments used are unknown, but it is believed that traditional instruments such as Qarqaba, Tbel, Guembri were used. From the sprinting start of Qarqaba, and drums, percussion, Peter Lemer's freely synths are mixed together in an improvisational to create a feverish atmosphere. A collaboration that connects different cultures based on the spirit of improvisation. Definitely one of the most unusual music here. It was a private release and hard to find in good condition for a long time, however we were able to receive a dead stock copy from the artist.
スペインにもほど近いモロッコ北部沿岸の街アシラーで録音された一生もののブツ。数々のジャズ関連作品に名を残すキーボード奏者Peter Lemerがその地を訪れグナワのアンサンブル集団La Troupe Populaire De G'naoua De Asilahとのおおよそシラフとは思えないセッションを記録した80年録音物。使用楽器は不明ですがカルカバ、トゥベル、ゲンブリなどが使われたものだと推測できます。カルカバが疾走するような出だしから、太鼓/ドラム、パーカッションそしてPeter Lemerの曲がったりくねったりの縦横無尽のシンセが即興的に混ざり合って熱を帯びていく様は圧巻。即興精神を元に異なる文化を繋いだコラボレーション。こんな凄い音楽はなかなか聴く事ができません。プライベートプレスもあり長らく幻かつコンデションがいいものは珍しかったようですが、アーティスト本人からのデッドストック品当店でも入荷できました。
