Congolese percussionist Julien Babinga has released total 3 albums in the '80s. This is a compilation of his best works released in the 90s. It features a variety of hybrid percussion sounds that combine traditional West African percussion and drum kits with drum machines and synthesizers. And covers a wide range of styles, from polyrhythmic drum tracks and heavy Afro tunes to Latin sounds. Standout tracks for us include “Madinga” from the masterpiece Vol. 3 and “Bonguisa,” where the percus sion builds up into a groovy rhythm. The cassette sound quality is clear.
