Nigerian Juju singer Salawa Abeni who has released numerous works,this one is a 1983 work named "Challenge Cup 82". Vocal, percussion, electric guitar and other performances are closely attached, and make a deep Juju sound all over the album. Feel the euphoria of listening to rituals without the intervals between songs, also interesting to find similarities with things like Candomblé music.
数多くの作品をリリースしているJujuの歌い手Salawa Abeniのチャレンジカップと名が付けられた83年の作品。ヴォーカル、パーカッション、エレキギターを中心とした演奏が濃密なグルーヴを放つ深いJujuサウンドを全面に収録。曲間隔がなく儀式を聴いてるような陶酔感覚を覚えます。大陸を渡って伝わったとされるカンドンブレ音楽などとも共通点を見出せるのも面白いです。
