Rinsho Kadekari, a leading singer of Okinawan Min'yō, was called “the god of island songs” by Ro Takenaka. This monumental debut album, released in 1965, 20 years after the end of the war, marked his popularity as a jiuta (local song) for Okinawan theater. Total 10 tracks, including "Kaisare-," beloved by many for Kadekaru's melodic delivery of emotion, highly improvisational piece "Yanbarutimatou" that often paired with "Na-kuni-" beautiful duet with Higa Haruko "Rappabushi", classic "Kunjyanjintoyo" "Kadiku", "Takoyama" both are also used in kachashi. More than words, feel it. Masterpiece that is essential to any discussion of Okinawan Min'yō. The dope cover is also worth savoring. It's in miraculously pristine NM condition. Considering that it was released 60 years ago and the hot and humid environment of Okinawa, it's truly a miracle.

竹中労にして「島唄の神様」と言わしめた沖縄民謡を代表する巨人嘉手苅林昌。本作は沖縄芝居の地唄として各地を歌い歩き人気を博し戦後20年後の65年にリリースされた記念碑的ファーストアルバム。「情」を唄った嘉手苅の節回しで多くの人に愛された”かいされー”、即興性に富んでいて”なーくにー”と共に組み合わされることも多い”山原汀間当”、比嘉春子との美しいデュエット”ラッパ節”、名曲”国頭ジントーヨー”、カチャーシーにも用いられる”嘉手久”, "多幸山"など全10曲。語るより感じてほしい、沖縄民謡を語る上で避けては通れない大名盤。ドープなジャケットも浸れます。ピカピカのNMコンデション。今から60年前のリリースそして高温多湿の沖縄の環境を考えると正に奇跡的と言えると思います。
