One of the early works by A Filetta, a group representative of the polyphonic folk music of the Mediterranean island of Corsica. A collection of songs that fully absorb the Mediterranean spirit, including "U Ventu Scemu E A Vechja Serena," which evokes the island's scenery with the sound of the wind in the background, and "U Mare E U Fiume," with its smooth melody and tasteful vocals. The group has released on ECM and performed in Japan, and it seems they are still active today, with changes in members. Rare find.
地中海に浮かぶコルシカ島の民族音楽である多声合唱（ポリフォニー）を代表するグループA Filettaによる初期作品のひとつ。風の音をバックに島の風景を思い起こさせるような”U Ventu Scemu E A Vechja Serena”や滑らかな旋律と風情あるヴォーカルによる”U Mare E U Fiume”はじめ地中海の精神風土をたっぷり吸い込んだ楽曲群。グループはECMからのリリースや日本での公演等を重ねメンバーを変えながら現在も活動中のようです。珍しい作品です。
