A collection of sound by Genji Kuniyoshi, one of the leading Miyako Min'yō singers of the postwar period. His gentle, slow and emotional voice is very impressive. Includes love song "Irabu Togani-" can be described as Miyako saudade, as if he were singing about a delicate love, "Nariyamaayagu" is still popular today and Min'yo song contests are held just for this song, most popular Kuicha (means to unite one's voice) song "Parumizunu Kuicha-", "Shin Kanushagamayo", which sings a love song with Kiyo Shimoji, and the beautiful melody "Ikema No Nushi", great lineup thoughout. You can feel a different groove from that of the main island, which swings slowly.

戦後を代表する宮古民謡の歌い手国吉源次による音源集。優し気にゆったり、情感を持った歌声が非常に印象的。繊細な恋心を歌ったような宮古サウダージと評したい恋唄”伊良部トーガニー”、この曲だけの民謡大会も開かれるという現在でも親しまれる”なりやまあやぐ、声を合わせるの意味を持つ踊りクイチャーで最もポピュラーな”漲水クイチャー”、下地キヨと恋を唄った”新かぬしゃがまよー”、美しい旋律"池間の主"など素晴らしいラインナップ。ゆっくりスイングするような本島とはまた異なるグルーブを感じて頂けると思います。素晴らしい。
