An unusual new age/ambient piece from 1992 by Indonesian musician/keyboardist Sha'aban Yahya. He taught himself music and worked as a keyboard salesman before setting up his own studio in the mid-1980s. He left early from the domestic trend of music and created this work with two Singaporeans, Kovan Goh and George Lim, who are also the owners of this label. The result is a captivating reimagining of an imaginary Indonesia that passes through the New Age and German electronics of the 80s, returning to the “City of Peace” of Jogja Karta in the title. This is cassette edition.
インドネシア人ミュージシャン/キーボード奏者Sha'aban Yahyaによる92年の世にも珍しいニューエイジ/アンビエント作品。独学で音楽を学びキーボードの販売員をしながら80年代半ばには自身のスタジオを構えていたようです。国内の流行りの音楽からは早々と抜け出し、そこで出会ったこのレーベルオーナーでもあるKovan GohとGeorge Limの二人のシンガポール人と共に作り上げた作品。80年代のニューエイジ全盛やジャーマンエレクトロニクスを通過した、タイトルのジョグジャ・カルタの”平和の町”へ回帰するように想像上のインドネシアを魅惑的に再構築しています。稀少なカセット版。
