Rodolfo Alchourron, active since the dawn of Argentine jazz, is known as a composer who explored the broad spectrum of jazz expression and as one of the foremost arrangers in the scene. This work is the first project under the name Sanata Y Clarificación, which catapulted him to fame, it was formed in 1970 following a performance that fused modern jazz, free jazz, beat music. The members include talented musicians such as Alfredo Remus, Osvaldo López, Bernardo Baraj, Gustavo Bergalli. It starts with "Clarificación" a breathlessly unfolding track that seems to trap a myriad of improvisation, free, and modern elements, followed by “El Saltabancos” where elegance and groove coexist, culminating in Osvaldo López's drum solo, “No Divaguen” with its distinct organ and saxophone tones and a hint of folklore, gracefully atmospheric “Melopea” and stunningly avant and complex development featuring Rodolfo Alchourron's Hindi aerophone insane "Pajaros Sueltos". All five tracks. Insanely good.
アルゼンチンジャズ聡明期より活動し、ジャズの幅広い表現方法を探った作曲家そして界隈きってのアレンジャーとして知られるRodolfo Alchourron。本作は彼の名を一躍有名にしたSanata Y Clarificaciónとつけられた、70年にモダンジャズ、フリージャズ、ビートミュージックを融合させたパフォーマンスを期に結成されたプロジェクト第一弾。メンバーはAlfredo Remus, Osvaldo López, Bernardo Baraj, Gustavo Bergalliといった実力派の面々。まず沢山の罠が仕掛けられたようにインプロ、フリー、モダンが絡み合い息つく暇なく展開していく”Clarificación”にはじまり、エレガンスにグルーヴしながらラストのOsvaldo Lópezのドラムソロで締める”El Saltabancos”、オルガンやサックスの音色が際立つフォルクローレの香り漂う”No Divaguen”、優美な空気感を滲ませる”Melopea”、Rodolfo Alchourron吹くヒンディー教のエアロフォンをアクセントに前衛かつ複雑な展開がやばい”Pajaros Sueltos”の全5曲。素晴らしいの一言。盤面非常に良好です。
