Egle Martin, an actress who has been called beauty queen, and also known as a singer who is devoted to Brazilian music, African roots, bossa nova, tango, and has left collaborated work with Astor Piazzolla to Afro-Latin master tune "El Dombe". This work was released by Melopea Discos in 1991. Since 1988, she has been passionate about bossa nova again, and under the direction of Manolo Juárez, featuring Argentine musicians such as Adolfo Abalos, César Franov, Alejandro Franov, Horacio López perform authentic Brazilian sounds in it. The album starts with a series of four spiritual Afro-Brazilian tunes, followed by the beautiful João Gilberto cover “De Las Tristezas Un Samba”, and sublime Jobim and Vinicius De Moraes score “Insensatez”, this flow is completely amazing. Other highlights include Ivan Lins's “Lembra” and João Gilberto's “Rosa Morena". Just brillian piece with modern arrangements and Egle Martin / Melopea both respect for Brazilian music. Gillespie, Hermeto Pascual, Gilberto Gil, Charles Mingus, Naná Vasconcelos, and others would often gather at her house when they stayed in Buenos Aires. On the back there is a photo of Vinicius De Moraes (died in 1980).
美の女王とも称される女優ながらブラジル音楽、アフリカ音楽のルーツ、ボサノヴァ、タンゴに傾倒しAstor Piazzollaとの共作、アフロ・ラテン傑作シングル”El Dombe”を残すシンガーとしても知られるEgle Martinが91年にMelopeaよりリリースした作品。88年頃からボサノバに再び情熱を向けギタリストのLuis Salinasと共に形作りながらManolo Juárezがディレクションを務め、Adolfo Abalos, César Franov, Alejandro Franov, Horacio López等のアルゼンチンミュージシャン達が本格的なブラジリアンサウンドを奏でています。まず4曲が連なるハイライトのスピリチュアルなアフロ・ブラジル組曲に始まり、美しいJoão Gilbertoのカバー”De Las Tristezas Un Samba”、気品に満ちたJobimとVinicius De Moraesスコア”Insensatez”の流れで完全にやられます。他にも慕情に富んだIvan Linsの”Lembra”やJoão Gilbertoの"Rosa Morena"など聴き応え充分。現代的なアレンジメントにEgle MartinとMelopeaのブラジル音楽へのリスペクトを感じさせてくれる素晴らしい作品となっています。Gillespie, Hermeto Pascual, Gilberto Gil, Charles Mingus, Naná Vasconcelosなどがブエノスアイレスに滞在する際には彼女の家に集まるのが常だったようです。裏面にはVinicius De Moraes(80年没)との写真も掲載されています。
