1990 private release by the enigmatic German multi-instrumentalist Ulrich Neumann, who plays the conga, marimba, flute, blues harp. It includes a wide range of music, from ambient to improvisation, ethno, and blues, giving a glimpse into his musical journey. The defining piece of this album is solemn and mysterious atmosphere ambient "Night Vibrations" which combines conga and marimba. Also included are sublime jazz and ethno flavored track "Follow Your Dream", improvisational folk rock "Riverside", and ethno experimental "The Jungle Burns". It is also astonishing in its complete sound making while retaining its private character.
コンガやマリンバからフルート、ブルースハープまで操る謎多きドイツ人マルチ奏者Ulrich Neumannが自主制作でリリースした90年の作品。彼の音楽遍歴を垣間見るようにアンビエント～インプロ～エスノ～ブルースまで幅広く収録。まずこの作品を決定づけるコンガ、マリンバを交えた厳かな音響アンビエント”Night Vibrations”がなんといっても素晴らしい。他にもジャズやエスノの雰囲気を感じさせる気品に満ちた”Follow Your Dream”、インプロ的フォークロック”Riverside”、エスノ・エクスペリメンタル”The Jungle Burns”を収録。プライベートらしさを残しながらも非凡なサウンドメイキングにも驚かされる作品です。
