Not Drowning, Waving is a group formed in Melbourne, Australia, that was active from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s with a style that incorporated ambient and ethnic music. This work was released in 1990 in collaboration with local musicians from around the Rabaul region of the Bismarck Archipelago, located to the upper right of Papua New Guinea's main island, and singer Telek. It contains a number of interesting sessions inspired by traditional performances and choruses, from percussion that seems to evoke the power of nature to spiritual ethno ambient. Just brilliant.
