Composer/film director Cameron Allan was born in Melbourne, Australia. Since he was a teenager, he has been active in music and turned to film production, and while also working on a label to raise funds, he has produced many works and works for movies that have not been made into sound sources. This is an original soundtracks for the Australian film "The Umbrella Woman" released in 1987. The composition is a labyrinth-like flow of chamber music-style themes that gradually touch on subtleties, arrangements, and old jazz sound sources. A melancholic sound image, twinkling electronic sounds like a starry sky, a deeply sinking sensual rhythm, and a theme refrain that appears and disappears. Not only ambience, also a variety of emotions, just like watching a masterful movie. Splendid.
オーストラリア・メルボルン生まれの作曲家/映画監督Cameron Allan。10代の頃より音楽活動を開始しながら映画製作にも携わり、その資金調達の為にレーベル活動も行いながらプロデュース作品や音源化されていない映画の為の作品も数多く残しています。本作は87年に公開されたオーストラリア映画『The Umbrella Woman』のオリジナルサウンドトラック集。どことも言えない彼方を彷徨うように、哀愁、ロマンチシズム、憂いなどのワードが思い浮かぶ音像がリフレインされていきます。彼のコレクションの多くがサウンドトラックが占めていたようで、それを物語るようなアンビエントだけではない様々な感情を描いた正にひとつの映画を見ているような作品。ゆったりと通して聞いてみて下さい。素晴らしい。
