The first solo album by American jazz guitarist Bill Frisell, released by ECM in 1983. When Pat Metheny was unable to attend the recording sessions, he took part in the recording of "Paul Motian Band - Psalm", and after participating in few other works, this album was produced. It is well-described as ambient, with 4 solo tracks featuring ethereal guitar playing that undulates gently, and 5 duets with Norwegian jazz bassist Arild Andersen. The narrative development and arrangements are wonderful, and “Throughout”, “Shorts” are especially captivating. The soundscapes are spun out with a sweet sound as if the mind is being purified in a relaxing manner. Beautiful condition with shrink.

アメリカ人ジャズギタリストBill FrisellによるECMからリリースされた83年のファーストソロアルバム。パット・メセニーがレコーディング・セッションに参加できなった事を機に”Paul Motian Band – Psalm”の録音に参加、その後いくつかの作品への参加を経て制作が行われた本作。アンビエントと形容されるのも頷けるゆらゆらと波打つように弾かれる幽玄なギターによるソロ4曲、ノルウェー人ジャズベーシストArild Andersenとのデュエット5曲の構成。ストーリー性のある展開やアレンジも素晴らしく、特に”Throughout”, "Shorts"には心奪われます。ゆったりと心が浄化されていくように甘美な響きで紡ぎ出されるサウンドスケープ。シュリンク付きの超美品。
