Jazz bassist/pianist Yoshio Suzuki has built a unique world blending jazz feeling, classical background, and Japanese sensibilities. His wide-ranging artistry has drawn attention even from the New Age/Ambient scene. This 1991 work features 11 tracks created as the soundtrack for a documentary video starring ocean adventurer Kenichi Horie. Stunning contents, from pieces that seem to express the harshness of navigation to those that depict feelings of solitude. Particularly moving are the softly pale touched “Nami” “Alone” and “Sailing & Rolling”. This work lies on the same continuum as Morning Picture and Touch Of Rain. Still underrated CD release. Rare.
ジャズのフィーリング、クラシックの素養、日本人としての感性をミックスさせた独自の世界を築きその幅広い作品性からニューエイジ/アンビエントの脈路からも注目を浴びてきたジャズベーシスト/ピアニスト鈴木良雄。本作は海洋冒険家の堀江謙一を主人公にしたドキュメント・ビデオのサウンドトラックとして制作された11の楽曲を収録した91年作。航海の厳しさを現したような楽曲から孤独の心情を描いたような楽曲まで素晴らしい内容。特に淡いタッチで描かれる”Nami”, "Alone", "Sailing & Rolling"はグッときます。Morning PictureやTouch Of Rainの延長線上にある作品です。稀少。
